SUMMER BALL '98

On Friday 26th June 1998, I went to the Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education Summer Ball which was again held at Cheltenham Race Course. This year the headline performance was COOLIO with support from QUEEN B (who are a tribute band to QUEEN).

At the time I was not that impressed with QUEEN B, this was because I actually thought they were using the Live At Wembley '86 recording as it mirrored that concert precisely. When COOLIO came on stage there was a lot of audience participation, in fact COOLIO got some of the audience up on stage to rap with him.

On the whole the atmosphere at the 98 Summer Ball was not as good as the 97 Summer Ball with the LIGHTNING SEEDS.

My favourite song of the night was GANGSTERS PARADISE.
